Welcome to Untertauern -
the small community on the
northern side of the Radstädter
Tauern mountains! Our borough is
divided into two parts: the
valley community of Untertauern
and the mountain town of
Obertauern.
Located 1,000 metres above sea
level at the northern base of
the Radstädter Tauern,
Untertauern offers numerous
opportunities for tourists, both
in summer and in winter. In
the midst of
Salzburg's very best ski areas,
between Obertauern and the
Sportwelt Ski Amadé, which
are all within easy reach by
free ski shuttle, you are
guaranteed uninterrupted fun
on skis and in the snow
between the end of
November and the beginning of May.
Summer in Untertauern
allows you to experience the
ultimate in recreation. And when
it's time for a well-earned
break for rest and refreshments,
there is nowhere better than any
one of the traditional mountain
huts which you will find located
alongside the numerous hiking
paths and alpine touring trails.
